My Mother: The All Rounder and Iron Lady

March 08, 2024

If asked, "Who is the strongest person you have seen in your life?", the first person that comes to mind would be my mother.
My mother is a blessing in my life and to my family. I have witnessed how she manages the household so perfectly while also raising me and my siblings and providing us with a proper life. She excels at cooking delicious food, managing the family's expenses, caring for us, and helping others. An optimist, my mother has always inspired me, even during my darkest moments. I recall that never once in my life did my mother ask me to study, except for one occasion after my A-levels when she was a bit annoyed with me and gave me a gentle scolding. I was deeply hurt and ashamed that day, realizing how I had let myself down, prompting her intervention.
My beloved mother is like Mother Teresa. She tirelessly helps everyone in her surroundings with the utmost effort. Despite facing numerous challenges in her life, she continues to smile and remains grateful to the Almighty for every blessing bestowed upon us. There were times when she had to shoulder the financial responsibility of our family, and by the grace of the Almighty, she managed it flawlessly. It seems to me that mothers are endowed by the Almighty with heavenly attributes that surpass earthly logic. They are superhumans, angels sent to us by the Divine.
Though thousands of miles away from home, I can only think and imagine what I have done for my mother. Today, on Women's Day, the woman whom I pay tribute to is my beloved mother. I wish and pray to the Almighty for her well-being, happiness, peace, and for every good wish she seeks. I pray for her to be blessed with a good and pious life. I pray to Allah to bless my mother and all the mothers with the highest place in Jannah.

Rabbir Hamhuma Kama Rabbayani Sagheera
رَّبِّ ٱرْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِى صَغِيرًۭا
Translation: “My Lord! Be merciful to them as they raised me when I was young.” Quran 17:24
